It is always nice to know that your basketball heroes are as awesome off-court as they are on it. Kyle Lowry, in particular, went above and beyond for a young man last night, helping him meet his basketball hero Jimmy Butler via FaceTime. A video captured the moment, and it's so heartwarming.
In the video, Lowry is showing his phone to the fan who is blown away after discovering his basketball hero is on the other line.
Butler and the fan then exchange a few pleasantries before Lowry cuts in and says, "He said you were his favourite player."
Butler then says something inaudible before the NBA star interrupts him again saying, "go put a shirt on, I'll call you later."
The touching interaction appears to be a spur of the moment favour that Lowry did for the fan, which only makes it more heartwarming.
The 33-year-old was also filmed receiving a "trophy of hope" from some of the staff at Holland Bloorview that night.
In the clip, Lowry seems genuinely touched by the gesture before an off-screen voice adds, "we will put it with our other trophy."
The Toronto Raptors paid a visit to Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital on Monday, February 3, 2020, to hang out with some of their youngest and most inspiring fans.

Fred VanVleet, Marc Gasol, and Oshae Brissett were also spotted at the event taking photographs with excited fans.
VanVleet, who took part in several charitable visits last year, seemed happy to be spending time with the brave kids.
