Lotto Max $70 Million Winner Had The Most Adorable Reaction To His Huge Jackpot

If you've been keeping a close eye on the recent largest lottery jackpot in Canadian history, then you probably already know that the winning ticket was sold in Brampton. The Lotto Max $70 million winner, Adlin Lewis, has already collected his cheque and shared the story of when he first found out about his major win. And, we warn you, it's cute as hell.

Lewis, a credit risk manager from Brampton, bought his winning ticket from George’s Convenience on Mississauga Road in Brampton, reports CTV. He went to an OLG prize centre in Toronto on January 13 to pick up his monumental earnings.

According to the OLG release, when Lewis first found out about the win, he was warming up his car for work when he decided to check the app and see if he might have won.

The win had already been announced and the OLG was looking for the winner to claim the prize last week.

However, it wasn't until a few days later that Lewis learned of this life-changing surprise.

Rather impressively, Lewis still ended up going to work. There, he says, he spent most of the day trying to figure out the best way was to share the news with his wife.

You mean he couldn't focus on work after winning $70 million? Shocking.

“I wanted to tell her in a special way – with a trip or something creative – but I couldn’t keep this news to myself, so I ended up waking her up in the wee hours of the morning on Thursday and just telling her outright,” said Lewis.

Excuse us, but that is adorable. Spending all day trying to think up how to tell your wife, only to give in to the excitement in the middle of the night? Wonderful.

And, apparently, Lewis has been known to be a pretty lucky guy.

“A couple of years ago, I won a car, and then more recently, I won both the first and second prizes in a workplace holiday draw," said Lewis.

"When my colleagues found out that the winning $70 million Lotto Max ticket was sold in Brampton, they were joking at the office 'Is Adlin here? Did Adlin call in sick today?'"

Little did they know, eh?

This win comes after the record lotto max jackpot had no winners the first time around.

So what will Lewis do with so much money? He plans to make some investments, take trips, and just enjoy life.

"We have a lot of options now," said Lewis. He can say that again.

Let this be a reminder that if you play the Lotto, it's always best to double-check your winnings because you never know if you could be the next millionaire.

For example, one ticket that was sold in North York expires on Jan. 20 and the OLG is looking for the winner before they lose out on the cash.

Although there may not be a win of this magnitude any time soon, you never know when you can be the lucky one.
