I don’t know about you, but I’m always up for anything that combines fitness and fun. And that’s exactly what makes Hub Climbing the place to be this summer. Seriously, this place is the real-deal indoor rock-climbing gym of your dreams.
Hub, as the climbing community calls it, is Canada’s largest climbing gym. I repeat, Hub is the biggest indoor rock-climbing gym in the entire country (!). It also has the tallest walls in the GTA, so you know that reaching the top is a great workout and a fun adventure every time. And, to make things even more interesting, Hub's got some special offers currently going down: you can get 1 week at Hub for $49 (including belay lessons!) per person, including unlimited access and shoe and harness rental. Hub is also offering 2-for-1 adult day visits on weekdays until the end of July!
If you’re like me and have never been indoor rock climbing before, then Hub is a great spot for a beginner. If you’re a seasoned vet, this gym has loads of unique routes and challenges to push you to new heights. Either way, this place is hype from the moment you step in!
After getting changed into your super-cute climbing clothes that you bought solely for this adventure because you’re all-in like that, a member of the Hub team gives you the lowdown on this large, open space with tons of challenges.
Picture lots of angled walls with colourful footholds that allow you to hang upside down, sideways, and all ways! And with walls up to 49 feet, Hub provides hundreds of challenges no matter your climbing level. Let me tell you, height does matter, and the extra 25-30 feet here make your workout that much more fun and intense.
Hub even has a 48-foot-tall dragon you can climb at their new location, in Mississauga — that’s just about ceiling height for the gym! In fact, the dragon at that particular location is meant to personify a hero’s journey, and it’s a challenge for sure — but the victory is totally worth it! Seriously, though, is anyone else ready to live out their GoT fantasy?
Hub’s dragon has multiple routes, making it feel both physically and mentally stimulating as it challenges you to plan out each of your moves, just as a hero in your favourite flick would do. And, hey, if you fall, no worries at all! The ropes can hold the weight of a car, so you'll definitely be fine!
Go alone or in a group (yes, you can even host a party!). Not sure where to start? Hub’s staff will guide you through how to get started on your climbing and fitness journey. They can even help you find other people to climb with!
When you scale your first wall from end to end, it feels like a MASSIVE victory. It’s not only satisfying, but it makes you want to do it again and again. In fact, you might find yourself advancing a few levels before the end of your visit. It’s easy to get hooked!
Guys, all I can say is this: Hub Climbing is totally on my must-go-every-week to-do list. And that’s cool because, while an adult pass typically runs at $23, Hub is offering 2-for-1 adult day visits on weekdays until the end of July!
