Raptors Fans Are Making Hilarious Tributes To Marc Gasol After He Felt "Like A Rockstar" At The Parade (PHOTOS)

The Raptors have been sitting on cloud nine ever since they made history defeating the Golden State Warriors in Game 6 of the NBA Finals. To partying with Drake in Las Vegas to being adored by millions during Toronto’s first ever NBA Championship parade – it has been a wild ride for the entire team, but one player, in particular, seemed to be soaking it up more than the rest.

Marc Gasol took to Twitter on Wednesday night to share what it felt like to be surrounded by millions of adoring fans. “This is what it looked like in my mind... thank you Toronto for making me feel like a rockstar for a day!” Gasol wrote above a clip of Queen’s legendary frontman Freddie Mercury during his iconic Live Aid 1985 performance.

It was a sweet message, but of course, it didn’t take long for the internet to take things to a whole new level.

Memes and tributes of Gasol quickly began to flood into the comment thread of his tweet. Fans picked out moments from the parade where it looked as though the player was doing an impression of Mercury, with some even going as far as to photoshop Gasol into the memorable performance. Check out some of the hilarious homages below:

Gasol has only been with the Raptors since February after being traded by the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for C. J. Miles, Jonas Valančiūnas, Delon Wright and a 2024 second-round draft pick. However, since joining the team, Gasol has made himself right at home, quickly solidifying himself as a top player on the team.

Much like Kawhi Leonard, Gasol will soon face a tough decision of whether to move on from Toronto and the Raptors or to sign a contract and stay with the team. Both Gasol and Leonard have kept pretty quiet about their plans for the future focusing instead on taking in their once-in-a-lifetime victory; only time will tell what the players will do.
