The Raptors are welcoming Kawhi Leonard back to Scotiabank Arena for the first time since the NBA finals this Wednesday. So, naturally, the return of the Boardman has fans curious to hear how the players are feeling about seeing their old teammate again. However, at least one of them isn’t exactly stoked about all those Kawhi questions that the team keeps getting asked. Norman Powell revealed during a post-game interview on Monday that he is sick of being asked about the ex-Raptor, who left Toronto for the Clippers back in July.
Powell was questioned if he felt Kawhi’s return would bring the team closure by Sportsnet after helping lead the Raptors to a narrow victory of the Chicago Bulls.
“Yeah, I think so, but man, I’m kind of tired of all the Kawhi questions and people asking about him and the game and everything like that. He moved on, we moved.”
“It’ll be good for him to get his ring, I’m sure fans will show him some love for that, and after that, we're just going to play some basketball and get a win,” Powell added.
It was first revealed back in October that Kawhi would be getting his own championship ring along with his title-winning teammates.
It was also reported that his ring would be bigger than the rest because of his famously large hands.
However, this won't be the first time that Kawhi was reunited with his former team members.
Back in November, the Raptors faced off against the Clippers on Kawhi's new stomping ground at the Staples Center.
During that time, he was spotted sharing some heartwarming moments with his friends from the 6ix.
If you're looking to watch the game that will surely be the reunion of a lifetime, there are multiple places you'll be able to catch the action.
The Cinesphere is hosting a free Raptors viewing party on Wednesday night, and all you have to do is RSVP.
