OG Anunoby's Eye Injury Got Turned Into A Meme By Raptors Fans

If Toronto Raptors fans were mourning over OG Anunoby’s eye injury earlier this week, they have officially moved on to the stage where they have started making endless memes about it. Anunoby, who suffered a contusion to his right eye thanks to Kawhi Leonard, was recently spotted wearing a makeshift eye patch, and that was all the inspiration fans needed to make the player’s injury a moment the internet will never forget.

According to Sportsnet, Anunoby almost returned to the court on Wednesday, where the Raptors faced off against the Trail Blazers.

However, Nick Nurse later confirmed that the player “just wasn’t ready” for the game while giving fans hope by adding the Raptors forward is expected to return on Saturday against the Dallas Mavericks.

After suffering his injury on Monday night, Anunoby was rushed to the locker room and did not return for the rest of the game.

It was later reported after the match that Kawhi had managed to knock out both of Anunoby’s contacts and left his eyes bleeding.

Needless to say, the whole thing was pretty hardcore, Kawhi reached out to OG to personally apologize to him, and of course, a bunch of people on the internet made memes about the whole eye bleeding thing.

Of course, it wasn't just the eye injury that sparked some memes from multiple fans, some people even brought in head coach Nick Nurse into the equation.

One Twitter user stating, "Find someone who looks at you the way Nick Nurse looks at OG Anunoby."

Kawhi was so concerned for his former teammate during the game that he actually ran back during a play to check up on the injured Anunoby.

It was a heartwarming moment that proves that the Boardman, despite being rather emotionless sometimes, is not a hyper-intelligent basketball robot but a human being like everybody else.

Anunoby later took to Twitter to share his personal thanks to fans for their kind words during his recovery. Stating, "Thank you for all the support and well wishes."

The Raptors will face off against the Mavericks on Saturday, November 16, 2019.
