“A World of Tulips” is a celebration held in Ottawa, Ont. every year and features one million tulips in honour of the city’s official flower. Located at Commissioner’s Park by Dows Lake, the colourful tulip beds stretch an entire kilometre’s length and can be experienced on your own or with guided tours.
Nearby, celebrations of authentic art and a variety of cultural events will take place at Lansdowne Park, the ByWard Market, Zibi Gatineau and the Garden Promenade. See incredible handmade art pieces, photography, floral installations and workshops, and culinary masterpieces that are all inspired by the tulip throughout the four different venues.
Then, after a long day of tulip-filled fun, enjoy a glorious display of fireworks that will light up the tulip field on Victoria Weekend.
The year, “A World of Tulips” will occur from May 11 to 21, 2018. Locals in the Ottawa area can make use of shuttles that will run a regular 30-minute schedule during the festival period. Those visiting from outside the city for a day trip can park in a special lot (at Queen Juliana Park) for just $15.
