Ontario Provincial Police have confirmed that a 31-year-old Ontario man from Angus, Ontario has been arrested and charged for offering young girls money while attempting to get them into his vehicle. The suspect, Anthony Holtorf, has been charged with two counts of criminal harassment. He is currently being held in custody while he awaits a bail hearing. 

According to an OPP news release that was revealed through Barrie Today, Nottawasaga OPP responded to a call that occurred around 5:30 PM this past Thursday at a park located near Greenwood Drive in Angus, Ontario.

Holtorf was spotted approaching a group of young girls who were playing at the park. He approached them in a black Chevrolet sedan with a loud muffler. It is reported that Holtorf attempted to engage in a conversation with the young girls. 

It is alleged that Holtorf offered the young girls money if they would get into his vehicle and come with him. The group of girls quickly left the area and informed their parents of the situation. 

One of the parents was quick to call the police and notify them of the situation that occurred.

However, before the police could arrive on the scene, Holtorf was seen approaching another group of young girls in what was assumed to be the same interaction as the first set of girls. 

OPP arrived in the area and was able to locate the suspect and arrest him. The suspect is now facing two charges of criminal harassment. 

OPP is asking anyone who may have had a similar occurrence with this male to contact police at 705-434-1939. 

Although police have not connected these cases, earlier today, Narcity reported on a similar incident that occurred in Toronto this month. Toronto Police Services have issued a public safety alert after it has been reported that men were following teenage girls home in their cars.

In one incident it's reported that a 14-year-old female was walking down the street in Toronto when an unknown vehicle began to follow her. The female was approached by a man who demanded that she was to enter his vehicle. The man grasped her hand in attempts to pull her into the vehicle, but she was able to escape his grasp and flee the scene.
