Ontario Gov To Pay For Students' Tuition

You go Ontario!
Ontario Gov To Pay For Students' Tuition

Going to University or College is expensive, there's no way around it, and many people simply cannot afford a post-secondary education.

However, that is now changing and pursuing your education may soon become easier. According to Globe and Mail, Ontario will soon be making radical shift in the deliverance of loans and grants to university and college students.

These changes come in the form of that Ontario government's announcement that students from low-income families (less that $50,000 a year) will receive grants that are big enough to cover a students whole tuition.

“I think this is a game changer for students – it really changes the economics of going to postsecondary education,” said David Agnew, who is  the president of Seneca College and chair of Colleges Ontario.

Details about the changes will be released in the upcoming months, however it is known that starting in 2017, students will be able to borrow up to $2,500 more a year and low-income college students living at home would have only about $500 in loans a year, largely due to the much-lower tuition.

This is definitely a step in the right direction!
