John Reszetnik, 57, has been charged with first-degree murder for his role in the incident yesterday.

Police say that Reszetnik and the victim were waiting for the eastbound train at Yonge station yesterday at about 10:15 in the morning.

The two then got into an altercation before the victim was pushed in front of a train and killed.

Reszetnik then apparently left the scene of the crime according to police but was unable to evade capture after a bystander pointed him out to uniformed officers.

Police say they want to hear from other people who were on the platform at that time and may have seen something.

Of the 25 people, they say were on the subway platform at the time they have only spoken to 5 of them.

After reviewing security camera footage police say they know there are other witnesses because it’s clear from the tape that many on the platform became animated and started gesturing after the incident took place.
