Just about everyone who is living in the GTA knows that this year has been a particularly bad one when it comes to gun crime.

Last night was no exception, as two people were shot in separate incidents and taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Here’s everything we know about what happened, including what police are and are not saying about potential suspects for each incident.

Last night at around 10 p.m., a man was shot in the neck on Oxford Street in Oshawa, just east of Toronto. He somehow managed to survive his injuries and was taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Police have released absolutely no information about a suspect in this case, but are talking to people who witnessed the shooting.

Police do reveal that a light-coloured vehicle was seen in the area of the shooting, although it's unclear if this is related to the incident.

Just a few hours later in Ajax, Ontario, a second shooting took place.

Around 3:30 a.m., a man was found to be suffering from a gunshot wound and had to be airlifted to a hospital in Toronto.

Investigators are looking into 2 separate shootings overnight, one in Oshawa and the other in Ajax. Both victims were taken to trauma centres. More info to follow shortly. pic.twitter.com/piqDMamPCR

Again, in this incident, police have not released any information about a potential suspect.

These are the latest in a string of deadly shootings in the GTA this year, including one last month that involved teenagers allegedly murdering someone
