Take care of your Appa and Umma! Kim's Convenience's Simu Liu is helping raise funds for a Mississauga hospital that means a lot to him and his family. He was raised in the Toronto suburb and went to that hospital when he suffered a broken ankle in university.
Days shy of his 31st birthday, the Canadian actor told fans that he has one big birthday wish.
In an Instagram post to his 266k followers, Liu wrote, "So I'm turning 31 on April 19th (yikes) and I wanted to take the opportunity to highlight a hospital network in my home city of Mississauga Ontario (a part of the Greater Toronto Area) that continues to require donations for PPE and other essential resources for frontline healthcare workers."
Liu explained that Trillium Health Partners in Mississauga is where his grandfather had cataract surgery last year and where his grandmother receives Alzheimer's treatment. It's also where the 30-year-old got a cast put on his broken ankle back when he was in sophomore year of university.
"If anyone in my family gets sick at this time, chances are they're going to Trillium," Liu continued. "I'm literally on the other side of the world from my parents, and I'm not going to lie, it often makes me anxious that I can't be there for them."
Asking fans to donate through the link in his bio, Liu ended his post telling others to "stay safe and stay home!"
The actor is currently self-isolating while in Australia, thousands of miles away from his family in Canada.
According to Screen Rant, he's currently down under because he was filming Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings before the stay-at-home order got put into place.
The film was set for a February 2021 release date but got pushed to May 2021 when production shut down in early March.
Keeping his fans entertained, Liu posted a video of his "Marvel quarantine workout" which actually involves a big stretch before sitting down and playing video games.

Once he can get back into work, the actor has quite a busy schedule ahead of him. As the star of the new Marvel movie, he will continue filming in Australia to prepare for its 2021 release date.
On his IMDb page, Liu also has a drama project titled Women Is Losers and an action pilot called Neon Nights: Rise of the Triad Underworld, both set for a 2021 release.
Fans of Kim's Convenience can also rejoice because the CBC sitcom got renewed for another two seasons last month.
