The Brilliant Eaton Centre Skybridge Is Now Open

And the city is already in awe ✨
The Brilliant Eaton Centre Skybridge Is Now Open

Toronto's most exciting and highly-anticipated pedestrian bridge is now open at the CF Toronto Eaton Centre. The eye-catching, helix-shaped skybridge transcends over Queen Street, bridging the well-known Hudson's Bay store on one side of the street with the main hall of the Eaton Centre.

This one-of-a-kind recent landmark of Toronto features glass and bronze elements throughout and is illuminated by lights on the underside of the bridge, whcih is semi-transparent, giving the bridge a brilliant glow that can be seen across Queen Street.

Unveiled last night at a ceremony attended by Toronto Mayor John Tory, the opening of the Eaton Centre Skybridge also marked the shopping centre's 40th anniversary.

The new Skybridge is the product of a collaboration between the original Eaton Centre architects, Toronto's Zeidler Partnership, and the UK-based WilkinsonEyre, who were behind the first Eaton Centre pedestrian bridge that the new Skybridge replaced. And people are already loving it.

Although the new Skybridge isn't particularly big, it is already a mighty feature of the city to be proud of.
