The City Of Toronto Has Set Up Over 50 Free Summer Essential Dispensers And Here's Where They're Located
Sunscreen is a must-have in the summer but we are all human and sometimes we forgot to put some on or maybe we just need to reapply throughout the day but don't have any handy.
Thankfully the City of Toronto has people covered, literally, by putting over 50 free sunscreen dispensers in parks all along the Waterfront.
Think of those hand sanitizer dispensers you've seen everywhere in public places, but instead of Purel, it's sunscreen, completely free for people to use!
The dispensers are the result of a partnership between the City of Toronto, the David Cornfield Melanoma Fund, and the Douglas Wright Foundation. Together those groups have funded the implementation of the dispensers all along the Toronto Waterfront and have provided this map letting you know where they are all located.
According to their website, Be Sun Safe, the dispensers provide SPF 30 sunscreen that is broad spectrum, UVA/UVB, PABA and paraben free, and mineral based!
The website also provides other tips about protecting yourself from the sun like covering up with clothing, staying in the shade, and also being aware of times when the UV index is highest, which is usually between 11 am and 3 pm.
If you are heading out to the Waterfront this summer check ahead and see if there will be dispensers near you so you can protect yourself from the sun, thanks to the City of Toronto!
The dispensers were put in in June and will only be available until September 2018.
