The Most Unique Valentine's Date In Toronto That Isn't Just Dinner And A Movie

Can you feel it? Love is in the air. And Valentine's Day is just a few short weeks away. But instead of scrambling for an amazing date idea by yourself, we thought we'd be nice and do the planning for you this year. All you have to do is remember these three letters: A-G-O.

The Art Gallery of Ontario is not only a captivating place for art, but a prime destination for experiences and fun in the city. From dining to shopping, you could literally spend a full day here and feel like it breezed by.

This year, from February 1o-12th and 14-17th, the AGO is offering an exclusive Valentine’s Day Experience Package that gives you the best of the Gallery and includes a $50 voucher for FRANK restaurant, $50 Voucher for ShopAGO and 2 General Admission tickets at a value of $19.50 each, all for only 110$ (value of $139).

Here's what your date at the AGO could look like:

It'd start with a long roam through a few (or all) of the AGO's exhibitions.  As one of the most distinguished art museums in North America, the AGO has over 90,000 different works of art in its collection, so there is lots for you and your SO to admire.

A definite highlight is Galleria Italia, which offers a stunning opportunity to walk inside a giant window made from glass and wood which runs the entire length of the Gallery’s second level. Or climb the optic stairs and take in a panoramic view of the city.

And during the week, you can also take your date on one of the AGO's Valentine’s Day themed tours which offer a more stimulating experience and include, of course, romantic tidbits!

After feasting your eyes on art, you can pay a visit to AGO's in-house restaurant, FRANK, to feed your appetite. The AGO is offering a special cinq-à-sept menu for a limited time during the week, which offers a variety of shareable plates and specially priced wine for around 7 dollars each.

And if you'd like to sit down for a full meal, you can order from FRANK's dinner menu, which includes fancy mains like barley risotto or flat iron steak.

Finally, after a lovely meal with your date, you can cap off the day at shopAGO. This date was so lovely and sophisticated, you both want to grab a keepsake to remind you of this wonderful day or night for forever. The gift shop sells everything from books to prints and jewelry, which means you could easily take a piece of art home with you (other than your date).

To make your visit extra special, make sure to take advantage of the AGO's special Valentine's Day events and activities going on throughout the week, from Feb. 10-12 and 14-17.
