Everybody’s favourite winter date idea is back this year! The Toronto Christmas Market will return to the Distillery District from November 16th until December 22nd this year and it’s bringing all those joyful Christmas vibes you love. From hot chocolate to festive lights, it's the perfect place to get into the holiday spirit.
The beloved market offers a wide variety of entertainment from Santa and his elves, beautiful light displays, heated mulled wine, and other Christmas-themed treats. Did we mention that admission to the market is free on weekdays until Friday at 5 p.m. at which point the tickets raise to an affordable $6? You can treat your whole family to tickets and not break the bank!
The seasonal event also features vendors selling locally handcrafted products which can easily be given as a thoughtful holiday gift.
Details of what new attractions the annual Christmas market will be adding for the 2019 season are still little sparse, but if its anything like last year it’s bound to be a magical experience. Back in 2017, the market opened up a tunnel of lights made up of 80,0000 shimmering light bulbs. The attraction is expected to be returning this year, hopefully, joined by a few other surprises.
Another beloved attraction is also set to make its return this year. The event’s iconic giant Christmas tree will be back for the 2019 season, so start bracing for the adorable overload in your Instagram feed.
I mean, it’s kind of too adorable to pass up, so we really can’t blame people for going to the market purely for all of its gram moments.
Yet, the variety of events, food, and shops makes the market a one-stop-shop for all of your Christmas needs. Grab a few stocking stuffers for your friends, while you sip on a holiday beverage in front of one of the many cozy fires.
Hours for the event vary by the day, so if you’re planning on making the outing this year, be sure to check out the event’s website for any further questions you may have.
Make sure you head on out to the market Tuesday-Sunday, as the shops are all closed on Mondays!
