Get the feeling of being in a Scandinavian village without actually having to go anywhere. Blue Mountain is nestled in the heart of nature and has pretty much everything you'd hope for on a romantic Valentine's getaway: Snow, horse-drawn carriages, fine dining, spas and incredible cocktails. It's like a European vacation without the outrageous price tag.

Leamington

3 hour 40 minute drive from Toronto

Point Pelee National Park is home to songbirds and monarch butterflies, and while they won't be there in the heart of winter, that doesn't make the park's atmosphere any less romantic. A wooden boardwalk traverses across the park's marshes, serving as a scenic path for intimate strolls.

Algonquin Park

3 hour 15 minute drive from Toronto

Snowshoes, skiing, cozy log cabins, your feet up by the fireplace, saunas, tasty meals - need we say more?

Georgian Bay

2 hour drive from Toronto

Georgian Bay offers resort and lodge accommodations for any romantic getaway. Throw in the snow that is currently blanketing the entire area, a warm hot chocolate and the pair of you cozying up to the fireplace and you have a recipe for an incredible Valentine's Day weekend.

Niagara

1 hour 25 minute drive from Toronto

In a list of 10 most romantic Canadian cities by OpenTable, Niagara won top spot, beating out big cities like Vancouver, Banff, and Montreal. Niagara is home to award-winning restaurants, incredible hotels and let's not forget the main attraction, some pretty stunning waterfalls.

Ottawa

4 hour 30 minute drive from Toronto

Coming fifth in OpenTable's list was none other than our nation's capital, Ottawa. With a 202 km frozen river to skate on, winter festivals and lots of snow, this romantic city is definitely worth the 4 and a half hour drive from Toronto.

Toronto

Downtown Toronto has to - of course - make the list. While you won't be ditching the hustle and bustle for some much needed R&R, our city does have a whole host of romantic restaurants, hotels and award-winning entertainment to explore.

Caledon

50 minute drive from Toronto

Caledon is home to the Millcroft Inn, a romantic and luxurious inn with award-winning dining, hot springs and spa, an iconic restaurant overlooking a picturesque millpond, and impeccable service.
