For those of you heading downtown this weekend, prepare yourselves for some seriously inconvenient highway and TTC closures. The Don Valley Parkway will be closing at 11 PM tomorrow night, and won't reopen until 5 AM on Monday.
The DVP closure is due to annual highway maintenance, and was supposed to happen last weekend but had to get moved because of the crazy weather. Instead, drivers can take Don Mills Rd., Bayview Ave., Victoria Park Ave., and Kingston Rd to get downtown.
If you're taking the TTC, you can expect to take shuttle buses between St. Clair West and Union Station. Unfortunately, this whole chunk of Line 1 will stay closed all day Saturday and Sunday.
Some of the stations in between will actually be completely closed, including Dupont, Museum, Queens Park, St Patrick and Osgoode. So, don't expect to take buses or buy tokens from those stations this weekend either.
Oh, and one more thing. The Harbourfront streetcar tunnel will be closed this weekend as well. The 509 Harbourfront and 510/310 Spadina streetcars will be diverting away from the tunnel, meaning that riders won't have underground access to Union station.
For details on road restrictions and closures within the city this weekend, the City of Toronto has all of them mapped out on their website.
