Summer is the time for epic road trips and outdoor exploration. After the winter Toronto was slammed with it would be a serious waste if the warm weather wasn't taken full advantage of.
That's where this incredible abandoned city comes in. Silo City is just a short 2-hour drive from Toronto and it's stacked with rich history and some seriously cool looking buildings.
In 1906 it was a grain elevator complex but now it's just a sweet spot to check out. With its rich history and apocolyptic vibes, it's one place you should really add to your summer bucket list!
It doesn't just offer tours. The place is a jack of all artsy trades, too. Silo City hosts events throughout the summer like the Buffalo Niagara Blues Festival and Beau Fleuve Music and Arts Festival.
The place is also a regular for movie productions, poetry readings, and even has their own music recording series called the Silo Sessions. Also, it offers sweet photography workshops, live theatre productions and concerts.
You can have your pick between the Historical Grain Elevator Tour or the Buffalo River History Tour, or make it a whole day of fun and do both! Then you can dine at their on-site restaurant and hit up one of their evening events.
This place is not to be missed! It's located on Silo City Row in Buffalo. For more info on what events they have coming up, check out their website.
