This Brand New Brunch Spot In Toronto Uses Lemons In Basically All Their Dishes

Brunch is easily the best meal of the day, and no matter what all those rom-coms say; you can indeed enjoy brunch classics without having to be in a loving, committed relationship.

Like most things, Toronto is filled with endless brunch spots across the city, though this recently opened restaurant has the potential to still all the spotlight. Sophie’s Kitchen, a colourful cafe in Leaside, is now more than ready to take on the city's brunch scene.

Located on Bayview Avenue, Sophie’s puts an epic twist on brunch classics. Some of these twists include their pecan cornflake crusted french toast and their lemon-inspired menu: which consists of freshly squeezed lemonade, charcoal lemonade, lemon ricotta pancakes and lemonosas.

Drawings of lemons can also be found all throughout the walls of the restaurant, which transforms the interior into a comfortable and charming atmosphere.

After noticing that there wasn't a local restaurant that catered to their preferences, the owners of Sophie's Kitchen decided to open their own place. The brunch spot is also supported by the local community and includes vegan and gluten-free options.

As for the inspiration behind the restaurant's name, well that comes from the owner’s daughter. Young Sophie also influenced the style of the interior, since her favourite colours happen to be yellow and pink.

The restaurant is open from 8 am to 4 pm every day except for Monday. For more information, you can also check out Sophie's official website and Instagram page.
