Along with summer in Toronto comes an endless stream of fun things to do – including spending the better part of your weekends on a patio basking in the glorious sunshine, preferably while sipping on sweet, bubbly mimosas.

That’s right, patio season has officially arrived! And if you and your brunch crew are on the lookout for a new, chic hangout spot to spend your weekend afternoons, there is no better place than Brunch on the Patio, presented by DEQ Terrace at The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto.

Located within Simcoe Park, DEQ Terrace is a charming urban oasis in the downtown core of the city. It’s the perfect place to relax and unwind away from the hectic hustle and bustle of the city, while taking in breathtaking views of the CN Tower and Anish Kapoor’s “Mountain” sculpture. DEQ has opted for a cottage theme in its decor, featuring comfy lounge chairs that give it a proper chill vibe.

While DEQ Terrace has long been a contender for one of the best patio bars in Toronto, they’ve recently expanded their menu to include a boozy brunch experience on Saturdays and Sundays (which we are absolutely ecstatic about!). This new à la carte weekend brunch menu was created by Executive Chef Paul Shewchuk and features tons of yummy dishes to suit diners of every dietary preference.

Their unique signature dishes include the Ritz-Carlton Lobster Eggs Benny, Chicken and Waffles, and Smoked Salmon and Trout, among others. Their vegetarian options are abundant as well, featuring Chickpea Fritters, Savoury Toasts, a Summer Berry Parfait, Steel-Cut Oat & Spinach Risotto, and more, with the option to have certain menu items made gluten-free. Prices vary from $14 to $24 for their main brunch dishes.

The pièce de résistance, however, is inarguably their delicious choice of cocktails, crafted by their team of in-house expert mixologists. Whether you order their Blood Orange Spritz (Aperol, Blood Orange syrup, and Nua sparkling wine) as a hair-of-the-dog remedy, or are craving the Dill-icious Caesar (dill-infused Grey Goose vodka, house-made Clamato caesar blend, with dill-salt rim) that just hits the spot, be prepared to leave DEQ impressed – and a little tipsy.

For the true weekend warriors, there is naturally the option to order fresh juice bottomless mimosas. For $45, you can order as many mimosas as you can sling back during a two-hour service. Of course, this is the Ritz we’re talking about here – this isn’t just some ordinary OJ-and-bubbles mixture. Choose from five different fresh juices (peach, watermelon, pomegranate, blueberry, and the classic orange) to add to your chilled Nua sparkling wine for the ultimate boozy brunch experience.
