Many of us are so lucky to call the province of Ontario our home. Even though we might not have the sprawling mountains of Alberta, the seaside beauty of British Columbia, or the East Coast charm of Nova Scotia, we still have lots to offer that many other provinces don't.
Ontario is so great because we're home to big cities like Toronto and Ottawa but we also have a wide range of natural wonders from lush forests, to lakeside beaches, and of course massive waterfalls like Niagara Falls!
If you're hoping to take a trip up to Niagara Falls this spring you should definitely add the White Water Walk to your trip. The White Water Walk is home to an epic boardwalk trail that will take you past rushing rapids that will blow your mind!
The White Water Walk will make you feel like you've been transported to an Amazon Rainforest while you walk along the 400-metre boardwalk trail as class 6 rapids rush past you. These rapids are so strong that they're travelling at 48km/hr which is too dangerous for white water rafting!
The White Water Walk is an unreal attraction that is officially opening for the 2019 season on Sunday, April 14th and we can't wait! If you didn't get a chance to make it out last year, you should try to get there on opening day before all the summer crowds arrive.
The journey starts with an elevator, taking you down 70 metres down into the gorge where you'll reach a 73-metre long tunnel. At the end of the tunnel, you'll find the boardwalk trail which has 2 viewing platforms that are perfect for taking pictures and getting a closer look at the rushing rapids!
Everyone is allowed to take self-guided tours of the White Water Walk and they also have informative stations along the way if you want to learn more about the history, geology and ecosystems in the area.
It costs $14 for adults and $9 for children. They also offer the option of purchasing a 'Wonder Pass' for $25 which gives you access to the White Water Walk and other Niagara attractions including Journey Behind The Falls, the Butterfly Conservatory, Niagara's Fury, the Floral Showhouse, and more.
