This Is Where You Can Catch "The Handmaid's Tale" Being Filmed In Ontario Right Now
Everyone's favourite dystopian drama is officially back in production. Once again, the cast and crew of "The Handmaid's Tale" has returned to Ontario for season three and we have photo evidence to prove that filming is well underway.
Early this year, handmaids and Marthas were spotted all over the province, from downtown Toronto to Cambridge and Hamilton, Ontario. This week, they've already been spotted in two of those same cities.
O. T. Fagbenle, who plays June's husband Luke on the show, made the official announcement on his Instagram story earlier this week:
As the cast and crew continue filming for season three, more handmaid sightings are sure to surface on social media in the coming weeks. These are just some of the first glimpses we've gotten so far.
If you're lucky enough to live near any of these places, we'd highly recommend showing up with a pair of binoculars to get a sneak peek of what's to come next season before anyone else.
The city of Hamilton, just outside of Toronto, seems to be the show's main filming destination. That's because the Waterford house is actually located there, and its the setting of the Gilead neighbourhood which is featured in almost every episode. The house is known as Grand Durand in real life, and its located on Aberdeen Avenue.
Robart's Library at the University of Toronto
Robart's Library has this super creepy concrete exterior, and its "Brutalist" architectural style makes it the perfect backdrop for Gilead. Just this week, camera crews had the place surrounded. But, this likely won't be the last time that the "Handmaid's" crew will be shooting in downtown Toronto.
