Toronto Island Airport Ranked One Of The Most Breathtaking Places To Land In The World
Toronto has been making it onto some pretty cool rankings lately, and today, locals have another reason to be proud. Toronto's downtown airport, Billy Bishop, has been ranked one of the most breathtaking places to land in the world. Billy Bishop Airport has been ranked one of the most scenic airports in the entire world for plane landings. In other words, you can expect some of the nicest views ever when you're flying into the downtown airport.

Private Fly, a global private jet charter company, released their top 10 "Most Scenic Airport Approaches" list today and Billy Bishop Airport made it onto the ranks, taking eighth place. The airport made it into the top 10 list for the fifth year in a row.
So what makes Billy Bishop Airport such a spectacular place to land? "As Billy Bishop Airport is located on the Toronto Islands, the 2.8 million travellers who fly through the airport annually have the unique opportunity to view Toronto’s skyline and ever changing seasonal beauty through the airplane window – arguably the best possible vantage point," says PrivateFly in a news release.
The Toronto downtown airport was the only Canadian airport to make it onto the 2019 list! It was even ranked alongside airports in breathtaking destinations such as Ireland, the South of France,Queenstown in New Zealand and St. Maarten in the Caribbean.

This isn't the first time that Billy Bishop Airport has been given global recognition. It has been awarded several awards, such as being named one of the best airports in North America and even the fourth Best International Airport by Condé Nast Traveler in 2017.
The Toronto Island airport operates flights to over 20 cities in North America, on top of helping flights connect to over 80 international destinations. It is Canada's ninth-busiest airport and services 2.8 million travellers every year.
