Toronto Just Banned The City's First Sex Doll Brothel From Opening In North York

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few days, you’ve probably seen multiple media reports about a sex doll brothel opening in the North York area of Toronto.

News of the business stunned many in the city and sparked outrage from residents in the area who didn’t want it near them.

Well, it seems those against it opening in North York have got their wish, but that doesn’t mean it won’t open at all.

Aura Dolls, the name of the company that hoped to open the sex doll brothel in the Yonge and Sheppard area, has had its lease cancelled by the property owner and the city has ruled that it wouldn’t have allowed the business to open in that area at all.

The city says that the business fits the definition of an “adult entertainment parlour,” which is only allowed to operate in certain areas of Toronto.

The area of Yonge and Sheppard area is not one of those approved for such businesses, and the company owner has been told that if they opened in the area they would be charged.

This doesn’t mean that the business can’t open at all, though. It’s entirely possible for it to simply get a lease in an area of the city where adult entertainment parlours are allowed.

The business was slated to open in September of this year, there’s no word on if that’s still the plan at another location.

Aura Dolls has removed the original address from their website, which was supposed to be 4632 Yonge Street. But, the website still has a map showing the intersection of Yonge and Sheppard.
