Toronto Light Festival Is Officially Open & Here's What It Looks Like (PHOTOS)

There's no shortage of winter magic in Toronto, with so many amazing events taking place to warm our hearts on cold days. While many attractions disappeared after the holiday season, this enchanting installation has just opened to keep the magic going all winter long. The Toronto Light Festival is officially open in the Distillery District, and it looks like a glowing paradise.

Now that the Christmas Market has closed, it's time for a new event to transform Toronto's favourite historic area.

From January 17, 2020, until March 1, 2020, the fourth annual Light Festival brings us luminous installations to wander through and explore.

Located in the Distillery District, the event is one of the largest open-air light galleries in North America and brings some warmth to even the coldest nights.

The best part is, it's free to attend! Bundle up and adventure through stunning exhibits from international and local artists.

This year, you can explore 15 different light art installations.

Many works are interactive, bringing a whole other element of engagement to your experience.

Glowing cloud swings are stationed through the district, and you can feel like a child again as you take a ride on this adorable structure.

Neon letters spelling out "hate" wind their way across the Distillery's giant love sign, giving a new meaning to the traditional installation.

Wander through a forest of hanging bulbs at "Submergence". Over 5,000 individually controlled orbs glow with coloured lights as you move through the space.

"Firefly Field" is compromised of 500 dancing lights that mimic the luminous insects.

The effect is truly magical as you watch the orbs flickering throughout the space.

Explore a room filled with giant mushrooms that tower over your head in the "Shrooms" exhibit.

This whimsical artwork will give you major Alice In Wonderland vibes, but no caterpillars were sighted.

You can meet bright orange astronauts throughout the district as part of the Sydmonauts display.

Standing at three metres tall, these structures represent the incredible scale of outer space.
