Toronto Maple Leafs' Dogs Are Taking Over Twitter And The Cuteness Is Too Much (PHOTOS)

While some of us are trying desperately to cling onto the last few days of sweet summer heat, Toronto Maple Leafs fans can't help but look forward to the cooler weather, and the start of another new season of hope and determination. With pre-season set to begin in mid-September, the dog days of summer are really dragging along for Leafs fans. Recognizing the struggle, the team have blessed supporters' Twitter timelines with some of the most adorable Toronto Maple Leafs dogs you've ever seen!
That's right, this week has given Leafs diehards the perfect opportunity to meet the pup behind their favourite players.
The Dog Days of Summer tweets all started with the team's young defenceman Travis Dermott and his adorable fur baby Niylah.
This inspired some fans to start demanding the Leafs get a team dog. A few even joked that it worked for the St. Louis Blues, this year's Stanley Cup winners and proud owners of their own team pup, Barclay.
Dermott and Niylah were followed closely by everyone's favourite goat, Frederik Gauthier.
To no one's surprise, Gauthier's dog is just as big and sweet as he is. The adorable pair inspired even more team dog demands, amidst the sea of dog and goat admirers.
Some took this chance to voice their hockey frustrations, including grievance felt about the still-pending Mitch Marner contract.
Others were joking that coach Mike Babcock would give the goat's dog too much ice time.
Overall though, everyone was undoubtedly loving the Dog Days of Summer tweets.
Fans, of course, demanded more doggo content, so Leafs twitter gave us Moore - Trevor Moore, that is.
Moore, one of the team's newer wingers, and his best pal Murphy inspired an overwhelming flood of fans dog photos, and they're so precious we can't handle it!
While it may not be the affordable Marner contract that everyone wants, and it certainly isn't making pre-season come any faster, the doggo pics are the perfect end of summer distraction that fans need right now.
The team has promised to release even more precious doggo content, so keep your eyes peeled for those real good pups!
