Summer is quickly coming to a close and now is the perfect time to take advantage of what the city is offering! The final Toronto museum Staycation Sunday is being put on by the city this weekend. What's more, all of the activities being offered outdoors are free!
There's no shortage of activities to take part in at the seven museums across the city which are offering up Staycation Sundays.
At the museums, you can bring your own picnic and have a nice meal in gardens, courtyards, and apple orchards. There will also be games, landscape tours, and live acoustic music.
If that wasn't enough to get you excited, you can also try freshly churned ice cream and summer-inspired drinks, make some art, have your face painted, and even learn some old-fashioned dances.
The festivities start at noon and run until 5 p.m. at each museum.

"The museum experience is not only about the interiors of historic sites. We wanted to provide exciting programming that showcased the curated gardens, tranquil courtyards and beautiful green spaces at each site," Michele Simpson, supervisor of special events for the city of Toronto, told Narcity.
The weekly events have been going on since the beginning of July but this coming Sunday, Aug. 25, is the last Sunday Staycations will be happening this year.
"Toronto has some amazing spaces to gather your family and friends," said Simpson. "The museums are very much a part of the communities that they are located in."
The museums taking part in the Staycation Sunday are Colborne Lodge, Gibson House Museum, Mackenzie House, Scarborough Museum, Montgomery's Inn, Spadina Museum, and Todmorden Mills.
"Museums are much more than old buildings. They're great places to learn, appreciate the history and gather with loved ones," said Simpson.
Combine this final weekend of fun with the Canadian Museum of Nature's adults-only slumber party, and museums look like the places to be right now!
All outdoor activities are free but if you want to take an indoor tour of the museums you will have to pay admissions.
