Toronto Named The Most Multicultural City In The World

A new ranking includes Toronto as one of the most multicultural cities in modern history.

The Culture Trip, a media start-up dedicated to featuring unique cultures and creativity from around the world, recently came out with a list of the 10 most diverse cities from around the globe. Toronto was the only Canadian city on the list, joining the ranks of big hubs like London and New York.

The articlementioned that Toronto is most often referred to as “the most multicultural city in the world” due to its plethora of ethnic groups and languages. A nod to the city’s unique mix of dominant groups like the British, Irish, Chinese, Italian and smaller groups like the Dutch, Nepanese and Romanian was given as well.

“Toronto also features dozens of ethnic neighborhoods waiting to be explored, including Chinatown, Greektown, Roncesvalles (Little Poland), Little Italy, and Little India,” adds Marcelina Morfin, the author of the article.

Other cities to make the list include Amsterdam, London, Los Angeles, Paris, New York City, San Francisco, Sao Paolo, Singapore and Sydney.
