Toronto Named The Most Multicultural City In The World By The BBC

For the longest time, Torontonians have proclaimed their city to be the most multicultural in the world.

Such claims have always just been unofficial ones; that is, until BBC Radio declared Toronto as the most ethnically diverse city in world during a recent podcast.

Some people may question this declaration, since it's common belief that London is the rightful possessor of the title (after all, 37% of London citizens were not born in the United Kingdom). However, that statistic alone is not enough to classify London as the most multicultural city.

Instead, BBC took into consideration that Toronto houses 232 nationalities, and is made up of more than double the amount of immigrants (8.4%) compared to the rest of Canada (3.5%)

Brussels followed Toronto as the second most ethnically diverse city, and Auckland, London and Los Angeles all tied for third place.
