Comedians Brutally Roasted Toronto Neighbourhoods & The Burns Are So Perfect

"Your Hood’s A Joke", the popular comedy battle show, has made its way back to Toronto for another season. The participating comedians did not hold back with their disses about the city and its people. If there's anything you need to make time for today, it's watching these Toronto neighbourhoods get brutally roasted.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the show, "Your Hood’s A Joke" is a 70-minute show that pits comedians against one another. The duelling comics duke it out while representing their roots. It’s like a rap battle, but instead of sick rhymes, it’s all about sick burns. The show is hosted by award-winning comedian Danish Anwar.

First, we must discuss the roast of Toronto's people by a Montreal comedian. Toronto gets annihilated for thinking the "6ix" is a super original nickname and for the city's nightlife being the equivalent of "taking a Neocitran at 9 p.m. and passing out watching Friends on Netflix." 

Fair warning, some of these jokes are risqué, so be mindful of that before you play these at full volume.

Then there's Scarborough vs. Etobicoke. The old battle of west side vs. east side. Scarborough gets roasted in this clip and it’s pretty harsh but funny.

The show featured a similar battle a few years back, pitting Toronto’s east end against the west end. 

It’s not just the east and the west that have beef, though. The comedy show has also featured memorable battles between the city's universities, like York University against U of T. U of T students gets roasted for being bad in bed, while York students get called out for being "neither smart nor fun." 

Also, apparently Mississauga and Oshawa have it out for each other. Oshawa gets put on a blast right off the top for being "so far away" that to even commute there would require "vaccinations." While Mississauga gets laid out for having the oldest mayor in Canadian history, referring to their 98-year-old former mayor Hazel McCallion.

There's even this showdown between Bloordale and Kensington Market, which is admittedly pretty cringe-worthy.
