Toronto Premium Outlets Is Officially Open But Lines & Face Masks Are The New Norm

If you miss hunting for those discounts, we have some good news. The popular Toronto Premium Outlets Shopping Centre has announced that they have officially opened their doors on Friday, May 22. However, the outlet has revealed that multiple safety measures have been put in place and shopping will look different from what we've seen in the past. 

With stage one of Ontario's reopening plan underway, retailers with street entrances have been given the green light to open their doors. 

As an outdoor mall, the outlet announced that they have officially reopened to the public. 

However, the outlet, which is located in Halton Hills, stressed in a press release that it won't be returning to business as usual. 

The property group listed several safety protocols that will be placed at the shopping centre for the foreseeable future.

According to the statement, they will be implemented to stop the spread of COVID-19. 

Firstly, there will be a maximum number of people who are allowed in the shopping space at one time. 

The press release states that, "human occupancy within the property will be limited to a maximum density of 50 square feet per person."

If the number of people wanting to shop exceeds this number, customers will be asked to stay in their cars or in socially distanced lines to wait. 

Also, some of the mall entrances and gates will be closed to help manage the flow of shoppers within the mall. 

Public seating areas will be reduced to ensure that visitors are keeping their distance, and public restrooms will have every other sink closed. 

Security will also be on scene to ensure that customers are following these social distancing rules. 

Wearing PPE equipment will also be encouraged, and the outlet will have face masks and sanitizing wipes available to hand out to all customers. 

All store employees are required to wear face coverings while they are working and individual shops will also limit the number of people who are inside.  

However, Toronto Premium Outlets isn't the first mall to announce its reopening. 

Last week, both the Eaton Centre and Yorkdale Mall stated that some of their shops will be opening their doors. 

However, these shops were originally only offering curbside pickup at their outdoor entrances.
