Toronto Raptors Collectors Coins For Sale Are Celebrating The Teams 25th Season

It’s an exciting day for Raptors collectors. The Royal Canadian Mint announced that it would be selling two new Toronto Raptors coins to commemorate the team’s 25th season. The coins, which are going for $99.95 and $29.95, will help any super fans celebrate the team’s historic NBA Finals victory. Plus, it's ridiculously shiny, which is oddly satisfying.

This first coin, which is made out of one ounce of pure silver, features the Raptors classic dinosaur logo. The vintage feel of the currency makes a perfect gift for any diehard Raptors fan. As a bonus, buyers will also receive an NBA authenticity hologram honouring the franchise 25th season.

Anyone looking to purchase this piece of history should act fast though since supplies are limited to 8,500 coins worldwide.

“Your 99.99% pure silver coin features the original Toronto Raptors logo from 1995-96 to the 2007-08 season. The reverse is coloured in the logo's original red, purple, black, and silver. The logo is set against a stylized rendition of the basketball featured in the logo. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt,” reads a description on Royal Mint’s website.

The second coin, which serves as an affordable alternative for fans, features a more modern take on the team’s legacy. The item pays homage to the team’s current logo, a basketball with a claw mark. It also features an NBA authenticity hologram.

The cheaper coin is not nearly as limited as its pure silver alternative, with 100,000 coins being produced for sale. So, mull it over, all you want friend, you got time.

What makes these coins even more unique is that they are only available for Canada orders only.

The Toronto Raptors 2020 season kicks off Tuesday night at the Scotiabank Arena. A home opener tailgate, held at the famous Jurassic Park, is expecting thousands of fans to show to celebrate the team’s first game back as NBA champions. Several commemorative festivities are planned for the event.
