This Incredible Mega Tattoo Expo Is In Toronto For The First Time This Weekend
Picking the right tattoo to get is always a difficult task, and looking for the right artist to do the job just adds to the stress. Well, if you're an ink fiend, there's a huge tattoo convention in Toronto. The first Annual Villain Arts x Covered Tattoo & Art Expo is in the 6ix September 20-22, and with tickets still available, you can experience it all, from meeting with hundreds of tattoo artists to seeing incredible performances including a live freak show.
This event will have over 300 artists, ranging from local inkers to international ones, so if you needed help before, here it is. Some artists even have walk-up spots available, but it depends on the artist.
The event also hosts tattoo contests for artists participating in the convention. There will be a "Tattoo of the Day" competition on all three days which judges the best tattoo inked on-site that day, as well as "Best in Category" on days two and three, and "Best of Show" on the last and final day. Judging starts at 10 p.m. for the contests on all three nights.
During the convention, there will also be a beard contest and a "covered model" search for a chance to be a Sullen Angel.
If you want more than just body art and the chance to win prizes, though, there will be unique performances on show throughout the three-day event.
Events will include a live body suspension, aerial acrobatics, a freak show, and burlesque. There will also be public workshops for art, design, and photography, though these will be subject to an extra cost.
If that's not enough, join them for the nightly after-parties at local bars and venues with live music and art galleries in Toronto!
Tickets are still on sale for the event so make sure to check out their website if this sounds like an event for you. Tattoos at the event won't be free and each artist may have their own pricing so it is important to be sure before you make that big commitment.
Of course, you have to be of legal age in order to get a tattoo.
