While it would be nice to snap our fingers and have decriminalized weed for everyone, I honestly doubt it's going to happen that quickly. But we are finally making some steps forward.
Vancouver has put on the pressure to other Canadian cities, by becoming the first place in Canada to regulate marijuana dispensaries. Mayor John Tory has shown interest in following Vancouver's footsteps, saying that decriminalizing marijuana would be "a positive step forward for Canada."
While marijuana laws are essentially unenforced in Toronto, it's nice to know that there is potentially going to be some government action taking place. This question has not only been brought up at the municipal level, but it also has been discussed seriously at the provincial and federal levels as well.
