Toronto Zoo's Drive-Thru Visits Will Let You Enjoy The Animals From Your Car

Good news, animal lovers! If you’ve been longing for a visit with some furry friends, you may be able to get your cuteness fill sooner than you think. The Toronto Zoo recently announced plans for re-opening, although the experience is going to be completely different. Startup your engines, because the Toronto Zoo’s drive-thru visits will allow you to see the animals without leaving your car.

Like many attractions across the province, the Toronto Zoo has closed its doors to the public for the time being.

The zoo has now informed Narcity that some reopening plans are in the works, and you’ll be able to experience the zoo like never before.

Visitors will remain in their cars and drive along pathways for a unique, behind-the-scenes adventure through the area.

“We have developed an innovative new interim plan to open the Zoo as a safe drive-thru experience while meeting and exceeding the government’s requirements set out in ‘A Framework for Reopening our Province’,” the Zoo said in a statement to Narcity.

The entire route will wind 3.4 kilometres through the attraction.

You will be able to pre-book a drive-thru and enjoy all the animals from the comfort and safety of your vehicle.

According to Global News, drive-thru rehearsals have already been carried out. The attraction is just waiting for a green light from the government before opening its doors.

Once this happens, you’ll be able to book tickets online for your drive-thru visit.

Without its usual source of income, the zoo has struggled to afford the cost of feeding its animals.

In April, the establishment launched a Zoo Food For Life campaign, with the goal of raising $100,000 for animal food and supplies.

On April 24, the Zoo revealed in a press release that $500,000 had already been raised, enough to cover half a year’s worth of costs.

The Zoo now has an extra resident as well. A little baby giraffe was born this week, and the attraction shared videos and photos of this adorable new addition.

Hopefully, we’ll be reunited with our animal friends soon with this unique drive-thru experience.
