Some city dwellers may have never heard of axe-throwing, but it's a popular pastime among many outdoorsy types all over the country. And now its an official sport. Toronto's Backyard Axe-Throwing League has been growing in popularity since 2006, and its been giving Torontonians a place to practice their aim and vent their frustrations on some deserving wood.

As the owner, Matt Wilson, told Torontoist in an interview, the group has expanded to two locations that host between 2000 and 3000 axe throwers a month, and they're about to open a third location in North York this February. So it's not hard to find a place conveniently close to your home to get your axe throwing on. You can learn more about BATL at their website.
