Need further proof of just how terrible this winter has been? People’s Presto cards keep snapping in half from the cold weather in Toronto.
The issue was brought to our attention when one Toronto commuter informed Narcity that their Presto card completely snapped in two on an extremely cold day last month. Check out the photo they sent us below.
We took to Reddit Toronto to find out if anyone else could relate - turns out, many people can. Here's what they have to say:
Many other people reported the exact same issue with their Presto cards. Pointing out that, even when they tried to put it back together, it refused to work. Leaving them no other choice but to shell out $6 for a new one.
One person even said that everyone in their entire family had encountered this problem before.
Some took the opportunity to low-key roast the transit system in Toronto in general.
Fortunately, spring weather has finally arrived in Toronto (it's about time) and fingers crossed that it's here to stay. Enjoy the sunshine and warmth while it lasts and before we all hibernate again next winter.
