The famed Toronto Christmas Market is officially one step closer to opening to the public. Now that their larger than life 50 foot tree has arrived, Torontonians can start counting down the days until they can experience the magic. The Toronto Christmas Market tree is a giant Balsam Fir donated by Forests Ontario, and the decorations are next level. Guests can expect to see the tree adorned with 40,000 lights, 800 ornaments, and 1 km of ribbon. The staff are ready for the huge task of putting it all together. There are new ornaments and decorations that have not been seen before coming to the tree this holiday season. The tree arrived at the Distillery District on Monday, November 4 from Bancroft Ontario, according to a news release. "This tree is the heartbeat of the Toronto Christmas Market," said Toronto Christmas Market Creator and Executive Director, Mathew Rosenblatt. "Welcoming the tree is a special tradition that reminds us of all the precious hugs, kisses and wedding proposals shared in front of, beside, and sometimes behind the tree. Our team is excited and ready to start decorating."The Market will officially be open at 4 p.m. on November 14. Grab your tickets! Remember, it is cheaper to go throughout the week, and is way less crowded than the weekend.

You can visit Forests Ontario from December 6-8 and 13-15 to pick up a tree of your own. All proceeds will go to tree planting efforts. This is the tenth year that Toronto's Christmas Market is gracing us with its presence to recreate the traditional European-style Christmas Markets from the Medieval times.
Forests Ontario staff are working hard to make sure all the decorations will be in tip-top shape by the time the Market opens its doors.
Besides the display, the Christmas Market has got loads of attractions that it is known for.
Drink mulled wine, shop for unique gifts, and take a romantic stroll through the historic Distillery District for a magical evening of everything Christmas related. We can't wait to see what they have in mind for the tree decorations this year, which will be different from the last.
