Toronto's Giant Gingerbread House Has Two Floors Of Real Candy You Can Explore

Toronto has turned into a Christmas wonderland, with tons of festive events and decor popping up around the city. This year, you can immerse yourself even more in the holiday spirit at Fairmont Royal York. A special installation has just been revealed, and it's sweeter than Buddy the Elf's breakfast. If you've ever wondered what life is like through the eyes of a gingerbread man, here's your chance to find out. Toronto's giant gingerbread house has two floors of real candy to explore.
The Fairmont Royal York is no stranger to festive decor, with their spectacular Christmas tree and holiday windows.
Now, the lobby of the popular hotel has transformed into a two-storey gingerbread house, and you can actually walk through it.
You'll feel like the Gingerbread Man himself as you explore this whimsical installation made of real candy and cookies.
According to an Instagram post by the Fairmont Royal York's Executive Sous Chef, the house is comprised of around 5,000 real gingerbread bricks and took a total of thirteen days to complete.
The cookies are glued in place with mounds of actual icing and decorated with more sweets like marshmallows and gumdrops.
The entire house is strung with twinkle lights, giving it a magical glow.
