Toronto's moon installation at The Bentway will take place under the Gardiner Expressway, and you don't even need a rocketship to see it!
The enormous moon is part of the Museum of the Moon, a touring art piece by UK artist Luke Jerram. The moon will be making a touchdown on Sept. 10, 2019, then launching back to space on Sept 15. This is a spectacle you don't want to miss!
Spanning 7 meters in diameter, the enormous, glowing moon has been presented in cities all over the world. As the moon makes its journey across our planet, it gathers a variety of diverse musical compositions, personal stories, and the latest moon science.
The moon is illuminated from the inside, so you can actually see it glowing at night. Its surface is designed with digital prints of the real moon's exterior from NASA, creating a perfect mini replica.
There's no cost involved with visiting this majestic rock, plus there will be other cool events taking place like moon gazing, moon meditation, podcast recordings, and live music. The moon will rise every afternoon and set each evening creating an incredible illusion of a real-life floating moon.
