Now that it is finally summer, you know what that means - it is cherry and peach season! If you want to enjoy the best cherries and peaches, you have to get them straight from a local farm. So, the next time you are looking for a fun last-minute activity to do with your BFF this summer, head over to Toronto's pick your own peaches and cherries farm which is just a short drive from the city!  

In the Niagara region, there is Two Century Farm where you can go cherry and peach picking. The farm is a family business, with fruit being harvested there since 1787! At the farm, they grow a variety of fruit including peaches, cherries, apricots, apples, pears, nectarine and grapes.

The dates the peaches and cherries are ready to harvest vary each year based on the weather. With the cherries typically being available for the first three weeks in July, and peaches becoming available later in the summer. Admission and parking at Two Century Farm are free! So all you need to pay for is the fruit you pick. A 1-litre basket (roughly 5 lbs) of sweet cherries is $21, or the sour cherries is $17. Meanwhile, a 3-litre basket (approximately 4.6 lbs) is $7!

For both the cherries and peaches, the more you pick, the more you save. For example, a 7-litre basket (roughly 11 lbs) is only $11! So if you are going fruit picking with a friend, you can easily split a large basket of fruit for extra savings!
