According to their research, Toronto has “long been known in the vegan scene" for hosting one of the largest vegetarian events in North America and the number of vegan offerings in the city continues to increase week by week.
The study praises the improvement in the Canadian city's vegan scene, saying it has "come a long way in the past few years and continues to grow."

In the top five, Toronto joins Los Angeles, Berlin and New York City, which are all considered to be pioneers of delicious vegetarian and vegan food.
According to HappyCow, the best city in the world to be a vegan and vegetarian is London, in the United Kingdom.
The Vegan Society's survey found that the number of vegans in London quadrupled between 2014 and 2018, and the city's veggie scene has been evolving and expanding to reflect this huge growth.
Last month, online restaurant-reservation service OpenTable also concluded that Toronto is a pretty awesome city to be a vegetarian or a vegan.
They compiled a list of Canada’s Top Vegetarian and Vegan restaurants, and of the 50 Canadian restaurants on the list, a whopping 32 were based in Ontario, with 14 in Toronto alone!
This is reflected in Toronto's hugely expanding plant-based market, in which many Canadian veggie and vegan products are trialed and tested for the first time.
