3 Kids Were Arrested After A 14-Year-Old Boy Was Stabbed In The GTA Last Night

A shocking incident to start off 2020. Charges have been laid against three boys, all under the age of 14, after a Vaughan Mills stabbing of another teen. York Regional Police have laid attempted murder and assault-related charges against the three boys in question. The victim is facing non-life-threatening injuries.
According to a news release by the YRP, the incident occurred just after 6 p.m. just outside the north GTA outlet mall, which is located at 1 Bass Pro Mills Dr., in Vaughan, Ontario.
This is where officers subsequently found a 14-year-old boy with several stab wounds close to Entrance 3 of the mall.
According to CBC, investigators say a large group of boys got involved in a fight outside the entrance, which resulted in the young teen getting stabbed.
Although the group quickly dispersed, officers were able to find three of the boys involved.
CP24 reports the young victim was taken to SickKids Hospital where he is dealing with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
YRP investigators believe that there were witnesses who captured video of this incident on their phones who managed to leave before police arrived.
A 14-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and assault with a weapon, according to police.
The other two teenage boys, a 12-year-old and a 13-year-old, have received lesser charges of being party to all three offences.
The three boys are expected to appear in a Newmarket court, according to Global News.
This crime may be particularly shocking due to the young age of the people involved, but it's unfortunately not the first violent incident of 2020.
It's only a few days into the New Year and Toronto already faced its first homicide of the year on January 1.
There's already been a tragedy involving children, too. Three kids under the age of 12 were killed in a collision near Sudbury on New Year's Day.
We may only be three days into the new year but it's already seen some pretty unusual crimes and incidents.
On January 3, two Toronto men got into a vicious fight with hockey sticks. Police had to be called, and one man was arrested.
Meanwhile, an Ontario man has been charged after carrying out an "armed" robbery using what turned out to be a harmonica.
York Regional Police ask any witnesses who may have seen Thursday's incident involving the teenagers to contact them as soon as possible, as the investigation is still ongoing.
If there is anyone with information, the YRP ask that you contact #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7441.
