Think you're an adventurous diner? You can prove it this summer at the Sky Lounge, a fine dining experience that takes you 150 feet into the sky!
The restaurant, which is located in Ottawa, is being introduced this year as part of Canada's 150th birthday celebration. It takes the form of long, awning-covered table that is suspended into the air by a crane. The seats surround a central platform which is occupied by the chef and his team, who serves guests their gourmet meals.
The experience begins on the ground, with a selection of delectable appetizers to stimulate the appetite. Then guests take to the skies, where the dinner begins with tastings of cheese, charcuterie and the finest of Canadian wines. A three-course gourmet dinner then follows, with uniquely flavoured meals to accompany the guests' heightened senses of being suspended in the air above the spectacular Ottawan landscape.
The renowned chef on duty is Stephen La Salle of Andaz Feast+Revel, who will take you on a Canadian culinary journey full of creative preparations. The restaurant will be open from July 7 to 22, 2017, and admission is ticket-based.
