When we think of spring, one of the first things that comes to mind is flowers blooming again. We all know it's officially spring when the buds are appearing on the tree branches and flower stems are popping out of the frozen ground, it's the official sign that winter is over and spring has sprung!
Spring is the perfect time to decorate your home with fresh flowers, but instead of heading over to the closest flower shop, why not pick your own for a fun activity? There's a farm in Ontario called Country Cut Flowers that allows you to pick your own flowers directly from their field and it's so adorable!
Country Cut Flowers is located less than an hour outside of Toronto in Newmarket, Ontario and it's the perfect place for a spring day trip! They grow a huge variety of stunning flowers including peonies, lilacs, dahlias, sunflowers, and more.
They usually open up their 'cut-your-own-flowers' events in July when their flowers are in full bloom and continue into September and sometimes October depending on the weather each year. Usually, their slots are open on the weekdays and you'll have to book your ticket online in advance because they sell out very quickly!
After you've arrived at the farm you'll be given a bucket and are free to wander through the flower fields choosing which ones you like to make your bouquets! Right now there are no slots open for the season but you can purchase a 'Cut-Your-Own-Flowers' Subscription for $150 which allows you to visit the farm 3 times throughout the season creating 3 different bouquets (or several smaller ones) which are only $50/bouquet!
With this option, you also don't have to worry about the slots selling out because you can book other appointments to visit whenever the farm is open!
