Banff is one of the most incredible places in Alberta. The Rocky Mountains and the awe-inspiring flora and fauna of Banff National Park that surround the town are truly magical in every way. Christmas is coming, and so is winter. Just like last year, the Banff Mountaintop Christmas is getting ready to blow everyone’s minds with the coziest and most beautiful winter celebration.
Starting Saturday, November 16, the very summit that you will reach after your gondola ride will magically transform into a Narnia-like world of Christmas magic.
Upon your arrival at the summit, you’ll be greeted with Christmas delights and Santa’s workshop. You can decorate delicious Christmas cookies in the bakeshop (who doesn't love sweet confections?) have mulled wine, write letters to and take photos with Santa, play some exciting games, or watch one of your favourite Christmas movies in the theatre to warm up.
When snow drapes the majestic peaks of the Rocky Mountains in almost its entirety in winter, Christmas becomes even more spectacular. There's no better way to celebrate it than to celebrate it at the very peak of a mountain. It’s the perfect road trip to take with your significant other or your friends over a weekend.
With crystal blue lakes, the explosion of deep green from the forest, and soaring mountain peaks — Banff is straight out of a fantasy and it's no surprise that people come from around the world to be here. There are even secret places that tourists haven't discovered yet.
Banff in winter is the closest thing you can get to heaven on earth. If you’re driving from Calgary or Vancouver to Banff, the drive is incredible.
With undulating roads that bring you closer and closer to the peaks of the Rocky Mountains, we recommend stuffing your back seat with several blankets and snacks because it’s one long but breathtaking road trip.
Plus, Banff Gondola is where you can take those perfectly cheesy Instagrammable photos with your significant other. This place has to be on your winter bucket list.
