An expansion of airline services means more Canadians will have access to destinations in Mexico at super low fares. Swoop flights to Mexico will be departing from Edmonton this winter. Wanting to take advantage of the new flight routes is the perfect excuse to start planning your getaway for this winter.

On October 18, Swoop announced that four new flight routes will be jetting Canadians off to Mexico this winter. This is the first time the airline will be taking Canadian passengers from Edmonton to Mexico.

The four destinations are Puerto Vallarta, Cancun, Los Cabos and Mazatlán, all perfect for escaping the cold and the snow in favour of sun and sand.

"As winter draws closer, we are thrilled to offer Edmonton travellers an affordable way to escape to the sun. With the continued growth of our network, we are expanding our presence across North America, providing Canadians with more travel options at an affordable price," said Steven Greenway, president of Swoop, in a news release.

The first flight of Swoops' four new routes is the airline's first ever direct flight from Edmonton to Puerto Vallarta on October 19.

"Puerto Vallarta is one of Edmonton region travellers' favourite sun destinations," said Tom RuthEdmonton International Airport president and CEO, in a news release

Swoop offers weekly service to Puerto Vallarta on Saturdays.

Flight service to Cancun first takes to the air on October 31 but you will have to wait a little while longer for the other two routes. Service to Mazatlán and Los Cabos doesn't start until November 2.

Swoop offers Canadians unbundled airfare along with services and amenities that allow travellers to customize their experiences and book flights at prices that work for them.

"The new Swoop flights provide great new scheduling options for our sun seeking vacation travellers," said Ruth.

You can now purchase tickets for these destinations because flights are available for booking through to April 23, 2020.
