A Garden Oasis On Vancouver Island Will Have A Glittering Canopy Of Trees This Winter
This looks unreal!
The Christmas season is fast approaching (seriously, where did the time go?) and that means there are plenty of festive events to look forward to in B.C. There's only one place that comes to the top of your mind when you think about Christmas lights in Victoria. The Magic of Christmas at Butchart Gardens is returning this December and you won’t want to want to miss it. This is one you might just have to see to believe.
Without a doubt, Butchart Gardens is one of the most incredibly beautiful places in Victoria. And just when you thought this little oasis couldn’t be more breathtaking, they covered it in Christmas lights, making our jaws drop even further. You could definitely spend hours in the countless coloured lights, but there is much more to enjoy in the garden.
From a perfect outdoor skating rink to a cozy indoor dining area, and more, you may never want to leave this place. Honestly, a stroll through the garden decked out in lights while you walk under a canopy of glittering trees and eating gingerbread cookies by the fire sounds like our kind of winter. If you agree then you simply must add Butchart Gardens to your winter bucket list. You’ll be feeling holly and jolly in no time.
Among the lights and winter greenery, you'll also find a carousel, singers, scenes from the 12 Days of Christmas, and a 5,000 square foot skating rink. Skating times have to be booked in advance and you get 40 magical minutes on the ice. No skates? No problem. You can rent a pair in the garden for only $3.
You'll feel like you're in a real-life fairytale as you explore the grounds. And, when you get hungry there are two restaurants on-site where you can pop in for something tasty to nibble on. The Dining Room is perfect for seasonal afternoon tea or delicious dinner. But, if you'd prefer something more casual be sure to check out the Blue Poppy instead.
While dogs are usually welcome in the garden, they're unfortunately not welcome during the Christmas event between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. You may not be able to bring your pup, but you certainly won't want to leave your camera at home.
