Nothing says winter in Canada like knee-deep snow. However, have you ever seen it at above-head height? The world’s largest snow maze is in Manitoba and it’s seriously, seriously huge!

Back in 2019, the Manitoba farm secured the Guinness World Record for the largest snow maze on Earth.

A Maze In Corn, located around 30 minutes from Winnipeg, is home to vast corn mazes in the summer and fall, and this epic snow adventure during the cold season.

For a true winter-wonderland experience, you can also pet alpacas, ride sleighs and slide down a giant snow mountain.

Sounds pretty magical, right?!

The company confirmed to Narcity that their scheduled opening date for the upcoming winter is January 2 (weather permitting) and it will run until March 13, 2021.

How big is the snow maze?

Back in 2019, Guinness World Records confirmed that Manitoba’s A Maze In Corn snow maze is officially the biggest of its kind in the world.

When measured last year, it came in at 30,021 square feet, or approximately 2,789 metres squared.

The record-breaking course took multiple weeks and 300 truck loads of snow to create, and it cost a whopping $42,676.

The walls reach 6.5 feet in height and are two feet thick, which means this gigantic puzzle isn’t for the faint of heart.

If you know what you’re doing, the maze should take around 30 minutes to complete. If you get stuck, you could get lost for hours!

What else is there to do?

While the 2021 season's new special features have yet to be announced, previous years have had multiple activities to keep you busy all day long!

Visitors can spend several hours on the farm, completing all of the winter-inspired activities that are on offer.

In the past, there’s been alpaca petting, snow sculptures, sleigh rides, huge snow slides, a snow bar and so much more.

There’s even fire pits dotted throughout the maze, so you can stop to warm-up and chit-chat while you're exploring!

Prices for the snow maze start at $13 for an adult and additional activities will cost a little extra.

How can I visit?

The company confirmed to Narcity that the snow maze will be open this upcoming winter, despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, they explained that there will be physical distancing policies in place and said that Manitoba health guidelines will be followed at all times.

Right now, the province has certain travel restrictions in place, so it's worth checking the rules if you're not a Manitoba resident!

At the moment, residents of western Canada and northwestern Ontario are exempt from the standard 14-day quarantine period in the region.

The maze is scheduled to be open until March 2021, which means there's plenty of time for these restrictions to change!
